What is a reborn?
A reborn is a doll wich is painted to look realistic. They are reborn and look like actual babies.
Each of our reborn babies is painted with many layers of genesis paints and layer heat set before the next is applied. Then they are micro-rooted with the most finest mohair and glued from the inside allowing the hair to be gently dampened and styled. This should be conditioned as some breakage and shedding will occur just like a real humans hair. To minimise this the hair should be handled as little as possible.
Our babies can be fitted with a magnet for dummies and hair decorations.
Care must be taken though around electrical equiptment (televisions and computers etc) and people with pacemakers.
Every Cherry Tree Baby is stuffed with fibrefill and weighted with a combination of pollypellets, glass granuels and baby fat to give a realistic feel.
All the adopted babies come fully clothed with either a cloth or disposable nappy, baby cover, birth certificate and at least one accessory (hair decoration, toy, magnetic dummy, bottle of fake formular or bracelet). These are available on our site to buy seperately.
It is important to remember that Reborns are for display purposes only and are collectors items so they are not suitable for small children or rough play.
